For those doing portrait shots or shooting infants.. What backdrop do you use? I found a lovely chenille type blanket for my recent infant shoot and it was great.. until it started shedding. ALL OVER THE PLACE. I realized, when the store cut it, that's where it started, so I'm hoping to hem the crap out of it to prevent anymore shedding.. If that doesn't work, I'm going to look for another source.

I also used a black sheet as a backdrop against the couch and hung from molding in their room but light seemed to seep through it. It wasn't ideal. Everywhere I look muslin is used. How is that with allowing any light through?

What do you recommend?

I know, It worked for some of the photos, the others I had to darken the black out which in the end worked out. I wasn't sure what people used for backdrops, other than sheets...
