I am new to the Canon 10D and digital photography as well. I have been taking pictures with my 10D for about two weeks and was wondering what are the best setting to get the highest quality pictures? Thanks.

Which settings did you test by yourself? Put some on this forum and we'll comment.

Set your quality setting to Adobe RGB and RAW image capture. This setting will require more post processing than shooting jpeg, but the results are well worth it. If you want to save room on your memory card you can set quality to Large Fine JPEG, then you can choose between 3 sets of custom parameters or you can leave the camera set to Canon's Standard jpeg parameters.
You will want to run some test shots using the various options available with the custom settings but I'm sure you will find one or two combinations that you would prefer over Canon's Standard parameters.
