Hey guys
I was curious about how long my newly bought NB-2L would last for non-stop continuous shooting with LCD on.
After couple trials, I found out the full charged NB-2L battery can only last about 70 pics, instead of what the manual states (160pics)
From what i have read from the internet, it seems that i am the only individual who has this complaint.
What about you guys?
Just before going to buy another new battery, i wanna find out if there are any brands better than Canon?
Thanks

hi,
it's quite true this cam is a power zapper!
i did not keep track of the no. of pics, but i observed that continuous usage of abt 2 hrs will dry my batt of its power.
i'm also using the nb-2l batt.

Hi
I had the same problem before but now I am happy with the capacity of my NB-2L.
When the red light turns into green, DO NOT REMOVE the battery, leave it for an additional 1 or 2 hours time.
The manual says to remove the batteries at last, after 24 hours of charging ... that gave me the idea to try what happens if I do not finish charging immediately when the green sign appears.

Battery life can depend on several factors: Higher resolution pics take more power, some CF cards may draw more power than usual, using the flash will eat power like crazy, taking movies, watching movies, reviewing pics, etc.
I have a 350MB Microdrive in my CF slot, which probably draws more power than the typical CF card, and the NB-2L battery. With all that space, I also take every image at the highest SuperFine resolution and the Largest image size (usually JPEG, but sometimes RAW). Granted I turn my camera off and on in between shots, but I usually find that a single battery will last me 4 or 5 hours without flash... 2 or 3 if I'm using the flash (but more like 2 if I spend a lot of time reviewing pics).
I purchased a second battery and find that the two batteries will just about always outlast me in a day of shooting pics. Just remember to bring that charger when you travel. Batteries will wear out over time, and sometimes need to be completely discharged and recharged to be refreshed. Try running the battery completely out, and then recharge it fully... leaving it in the charger past the green light, but not more than 24 hours (I just charge mine overnight... 10 hours). Do this twice and the battery should be refreshed. I know the manual says you shouldn't need to do this, but my experience is that every Lithium Ion battery can benefit from a good discharge/recharge cycle once every couple of months or so.
I believe there are also slightly higher capacity batteries that should last slightly longer than the NB-2L.
