I recently bought a Powershot S400 and for the most part I love it. It does, however, seem a little slow to focus and snap the picture sometimes. As a result, I have been missing some great candid photos, and I am getting a little frustrated. I have found this happens in all conditions, dark (using a flash) and outdoors in sunlight. Anyone have any thoughts about what might be happening to cause the camera to be slow to snap?
Thanks in advance, Carter

I think this is normal for the camera you have chosen... i also have it, and although that is a niggly function of the camera, there's so much i like about it, that that passes by ;-)

Thanks, Littlenose.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
Is this nomal?
Should I expect it to be slower to snap than my $125 film based point and shoot?

I recently bought a little car and for the most part I love it. It does, however, seem a little slow to drive sometimes. As a result, I have been missing some green traffic light, and I am getting a little frustrated. I have found this happens in all conditions, dark and outdoors in sunlight. Anyone have any thoughts about what might be happening to cause the car to be slow?
Thanks in advance
why is your car/camera/girlfriend better than mine? Please explain.

Prepare by pressing the shutter half way down and keeping it there to lock the exposure and focus. When you see the right expression or whatever, coming your way, then squeeze the shutter.
It will be very fast at that point because it's been prepared.
