took these this evening in my garden,first one is a spider who started out in my house but i moved her to my garden a few weeks ago and she made her home on my folding chair,both were taken with my 350d,tamron 18-200mm lense,31mm macro tube,spider was taken on a tripod,the fly was handheld :D

Number is two is outstanding. Number one seems a little on shallow on your depth of field. For some reason, I also have had problems capturing a good sharp image of an orb weaver.

Yep definitely the second shot. Great composition, and sharp clear subject stands out against the background !

thanks for the comments :D the first one was hard to take as the wind was moving her web all over the place..lol will try and get some better ones tonigt if the wind dies down :)

Both good captures, the spider looks like a Cross Spider.

#2 is great, very sharp and well composed. #1 is a little soft though. Thanks for sharing.

Man, our hand is more stable than the tripod , Lolll.
You are right about the wind, as you wand to take a macro, you don't know where it comes from. The second is fine, just needed some light at the bottom of the fly.
Hope to see more shots of your spider.
