Hi all,

I just got my new computer (running XP) and went to load up my first batch of photos into it. However - it doesn't "see" the camera! When I turn the camera on, the computer makes a noise, same when it is turned off, but it doesn't recognise it. No wizards come up etc.

I tried download in zoombrowser ex - no luck. It doesn't see the camera either.

I tried the Install new hardware option - it says "You can install only one device at a time. Another device installation is underway, when it is finished you can try this wizard again".

I tried the Scanners and Cameras option - it does not see the camera. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, but that did not work.

On my other PC (running 98) it works just fine. Can anyone help me?

Best regards,

Antony

Go to this site http://www.powershot.com/powershot2/customer/manual.html and at the very bottom of the page under "Software", click on and download "software.pdf" (beside "Windows XP driver" ). Hopefully the debugging instructions in this pdf should get you squared away.

I would try updating your anti-virus software, scanning and removing any viruses. After it's clean, uninstall your camera from Device Manager, then turn it off and back on so that XP will reinstall the camera driver. It sounds like you might have the Klez_h virus.
