A different look at the a barn on Mormon Row in the Gros Ventre section of Jackson Hole. I believe this was taken the same morning as Solitude...
Comments and suggestions please. Edit OK.

Its pretty surreal. It's like desert at the bottom and Snowy alps at the top.. Almost looks like 2 cropped pics of each extereme. Nice one.

Love it, my only suggestion is to maybe crop it to the upper left so there's not quite so much foreground and more mountain. Still a great shot as is though.

Absolutely scenic! Nice work!
My only critique is that you cropped out the tree to the left in the first picture.

Close, but the Moulton Barn is just down the road from this one. The Tetons are truly an amazing place. And spectacular in their beauty. Great place to visit, but I truly would not want to live there. The cost of living is incredible...

I agree, except that I think the tree should have been cropped out completely as it is in a small group that are shown on the left of the second image. I couldn't find a reasonable crop point in the viewfinder and then left too much in the final image. Thanks for the comments.

Great photos Dave. Both very well done! I love the Tetons and I wish I could have spent more time there last year.

It is indeed surreal. I think the valley floor is at about 6000 feet in elevation while the peaks are a bit over 10000 feet. And of course, the Snake River runs thru it all. I do know that hiking and climbing in the area presents very interesting challenges. That elevation takes some getting use to for my old set of lungs that are used to about sea level.

nice shots looking at a crop i would say both shots should lose half the for ground , no1 croped makes the mountians stand out more no2 you lose the stream that takes your eye away keep up the good work

Both shots are gorgeous. It is a beautiful area, and I regret not getting there this past summer. Won't be long till I get back, though.

Thanks Stan. It is a pretty area but it was already showing signs of winter when we left on 9/18. The trees were well into fall colors - mostly the gold of the Aspen. We have been out of the cold for too long I think, getting soft.

Actually we could have just walked out behind the house to shoot the picture.
If we hadn't wanted the house and barn in it...
