Shot the Beach Boys a couple of weeks ago (have shot Huey Lewis and Steve Miller Band since) but have been overtaken completely by moving to a new house with room for office and "studio". During a breather in packing I did manage to get the Beach Boys onto my website and available to exhibit here, so without further ado, a few from the Beach Boys, starting with the obligatory collage:

Well, I'm on the run with unpacking, getting the last of the stuff from the old house, some shooting for my winery client, another night of Steve Miller Band tonight if I can make it ... no rest for the wicked.

#3 looks a little too noisy but the rest look good to me. I really hate that I had to miss this concert. It would have been fun to watch you in action and learn a couple things.

Surf, it may be noisey, although sometimes the smoke makes a similar look. Wasn't the best show from a lighting or photo-op perspective and I had relatively few images that I liked, but the songs were superb ... you guys would have really had a grand time, particularly if you like dancing to the live music (which they allow off to the sides of the stage at the front.) Huey Lewis (in my pipeline) was a superb visual show and then Steve Miller Band (in my pipeline) was rather plain, as you will see eventually.

I'm too white to dance.

You should come shoot the high school game tonight.

It's one thing to go shooting at the casino for pay while we are still 90% in boxes, but I don't think my wife would be too happy if I went off and shot high school football for recreation just now. :-(

Well they have games all winter so I expect to see you there at some point in time, Mister! Is the offer for the lens still on the table?

Are the Beach Boys still going.. They never stop. I saw them back in the early 90's when they had John Stamos playing drums for them. Nice pics.

Excellent shots. I bet it was great to be there. They played here and we had a chance to see them. Amazing how good they still sound. Thanks for sharing.

Great to see they're still performing. Fine work Dwight, I love the last pic.

Surf, yes, even my wife wants me to go shoot with you! And yes, the offers of the 300mm f2.8 and/or the 70-200mm f2.8 are still open! In fact, I have ZZ Top on Thursday next week (I'd better double check) so Friday would be good.

Nidz, they're a little slower and don't bend down so well, but the sound is still pretty good.

Doc, actually I don't notice much when I'm shooting other than the visuals, but they did a pretty good show.

Bottom, thanks! I'll try to get Huey Lewis up this weekend in between unpacking boxes.

I'll be working on Huey Lewis this weekend between unpacking more boxes and starting to rebuild my "office" ... I should shoot some images and get some suggestions ... hmmm, and same for my "studio" room, although I am thinking of skipping having a studio and just making it a work room where I could have a matting/framing setup ... too many choices!

Thanks for sharing what must also have been a very pleasant night.

Jaime, I don't normally "hear" the concerts while I am shooting ... in fact, it is such a distraction and potentially damaging since I go to an average of one a week that I am in the process of getting 'fitted' -25db sound cancelling ear plugs. I don't like to finish a night with my ears ringing. :-)

Nice work again. Although I must say I find the background of the collage too distracting.
And yes: earplugs are a must! Mine have a red line

Thanks, Rene ... yes, the background is busy, but I am always looking for ways to make each collage (maybe 40 to 50 a year) look different and I am not a graphic artist, sigh. If you have any suggestions for something please describe, add an image or provide a URL.

Dwight,

awesome images, and I find that the background to the collage is really fitting (although it hurts my eyes  )

I really like the colours.

Best regards,
Andy

Andy, thanks, they were colorful!

Dave, ZZ Top was fun. Turns out my friend Seymour Duncan makes the pickups for their guitars so he was there for that concert ... on here somewhere.

Gosh it only took you 7 months to reply...I guess you've been busy?:p

I keep warning you how busy you are going to become if you keep following my advice, but NO, you don't listen, and soon you will see how great the burden is. I tend to avoid "bumping" my threads often, but now and then I go through to see if I missed responding to anyone ... today I got a bit deeper into the pile than usual. It is nice to know I have a monitor.

Great shots! Brings back memories of when I saw them in concert almost 10 years ago.

Well at least it wasn't 30 years ago!;) We have quite a few folks from New Jersey by the way so no need to be so self effacing on your town!

I shoot mostly oldies and most of the groups have lost a few members here and there ... no exception with these guys.
