Curious as to whether anyone here had used a Tamrac Expedition 7 as carry on luggage on an airplane. I love my new Tamrac but it looks a tad big for carry on...although measuring it, it does come up under the 51 inches America West allows me.
TIA for any experiences you might care to share.

I thought I was the only one packing a "big" bag. I carry the Extreme Photo Edition, you should be fine with your bag. I usally carry a laptop bag along with camera backpack, and have never been denied either.

I also have the same bag. I bought it because I had read a review in Popular Photography Magazine giving it a good review. Whent out checked it out and got it because it's comfortable and plenty of storage and also carry on compatible. You just have to tie the shoulder straps together. Let me know how it goes on the airplane. I am planning a trip for this winter. Hope I can carry it on. I do not want to check the luggage and risk losing it!!

I'd sooner tie my family jewels in a knot for the duration of the flight than check my camera gear. But if I don't know for sure that it will fit in carry on before I leave, I am going to leave the Tamrac behind and split my gear between a Lowepro Nova3AW and a laptop backpack and carry both on.

I have the Expedition 5- 5575 and it worked out great, but I kinda believe the 7 would be too big. I know mine would not fit under the seat, but I had rooom up top.
