I just sent my 20d in for cleaning and received a letter dated the 19th, saying that I will have my camera back within 10 days. You might want to call them and get a status.

They always tell "around 10 business days" but that is AFTER they diagnose the problem (if there was a problem.) My Drebel was in Canon's hands for 5 weeks.

I had very bad service from Canada Canada on a lens I returned for the third time, when I emailed them, this was their reply.
Quote
"Your lens was rec'd here on Aug 10 - but as we are about three weeks behind
in entering units rec'd it has not gone into the computer yet."
How long does it take to enter something into a computer?

I'm just a little surprised at the number of people sending their cameras in Canon for sensor cleaning. It really is not that difficult.
It seems that Canon's service levels vary greatly from one service center to then next. At the one in Montreal that I use they have been great. Just about any time I have had anything in there I get it back before their estimated return date.

Are all new Canon camera owners aware of the fact that Canon offer a free clean and service ,complete with a firmware update within the 12mth warranty.I was not aware of this service until my 300d needed a clean a couple of mths after using it.I did try myself ,but made matters worse. If I had have known of the service I would have waited until nearer the end of the warranty. However, with the 20d,which was full of black spots in the sky,I sent it off ,just a month before the warranty expired. It has been returned within a week, and the firmware has been calibrated and checked. Not even any return postage to pay.I do not know if this is mentioned in any of the paperwork one receives with the new cam.
The firm I used are H.Lehmann Ltd,Stoke -on -Trent.
Tel 01782 413611.
They invoice one as soon as they receive the package,so you know it has arrived safely, and my 20d was reurned within a week.Excellent service. It is also thoroughly checked over and serviced.

Now you'll have to get your finger (not that one...the one you use to release the shutter) back in shape and make up for lost time and shoot as many pics as you can!
