Well today i shot our county rivals homecoming football game, because i work for our local newspaper as a photog. The lighting wasnt too bad getiing shutter speed of 1/400, f2.8, ISO 1600, wasnt too bad at all. Well here are a few pics from the game, so commnets and critiques are greatly appreciated.

The first and last one look good, but the others all look like the subjects are soft. Composition isnt bad, but having a soft subject kinda takes away from the photo.

I like the first one and last one as well.
I'm assuming you're shooting the Los Lunas Tigers. My kids go to Las Cruces High, whom Los Lunas beat a couple of weeks ago at Cruces' homecoming. Grrr.

haha the story in the paper read "tiger-two, dawgs-0" ...I actually dont go to LLHS, I go to Belen High School so i wa kinda biting my lip through the whole game lol, i work for the valencia county news-bulletin.

But as far as the subject being soft, its due to me learning a new method of focusing. I switched cfn.4 to 4-3 so im still learning how to use it.

No flash? Your stadium must have really good lights. Did you shoot raw and did you crop? Even at 200 mm I am not getting too many close shots without croping.
