This being the first full week-end of Autumn and the foliage hasn't yet turned, doesn't look to be a very good year :( , I thought I'd repost one from last fall, just to peak some interest in getting ready for the foliage. :) :)

That's beautiful, Sandy! I'm getting ready for the colors this year. I hope we get some good weather for picture taking! I'm planning a trip up into the White Mountains the second weekend in October. Hopefully that won't be too late!

I saw that on your website....beautiful shot! The colors are gorgeous! You are right...I am thinking more brown around here this year due to the lack of rain we had in our area anyways. I hear VT is suppose to have a super foliage season this year! Maybe a long drive is needed :D Hey, where did you find those eagles I saw on your site?? I found an eagles nest here about a month ago on an island on the river with at least 2 adults, one immature and I saw one baby in the nest. Im hoping to get back to try my luck at photographing them in the next week or two. They can be found at Quabbin year round, too. :D

Thanks all for the comments on the photo, What I've seen around here in Northwestern CT, is that the red maples, which are some of the earlier ones to turn are just turning brown and the leaves are curling up. That and it's still about 2 to 3 weeks to soon. I'm afraid the trees got very stressed this year with the heat and humidity. Central Vermont, Randolph-Barre area, usually peaks around Oct. 5th. Karina those Eagles were taken right on the Farmington River in Collinsville on the pond by the canoe place. :)

Wow, I didn't know they frequented that area! Like in the winter, Essex gets many of them...they migrate down the river for hunting as it freezes much more solid up north (or so I am told this is why). They have the big eagle festival every February. Any such think like that up your way? Any particular place or time they can be found most often? This was the first year I ever saw an eagle in the wild....I was so amazed, just like a little kid LOL

They nest up in the Nepaug Res. and that part of the Farmington takes a long time to freeze over. Haven't seen them lately thou. :(

Absolutely stunning! We don't get colors like that in Southern California! I miss them from having lived in the east coast.
