Hey everyone!!! I was just wintering your input on whether I should invest in more good lenses or upgrade my t2i for a....5dM2. I can't afford to do both right now. But I really want to flourish in lifestyle photography over the next year. Currently I'm using my nifty fifty like 90% of the time.

You will get a lot of opinion. However, it would help to know what you shoot. Since we do not, I will give some general advice. For the cost of a 5D2, which is a great camera, you can improve your glass. I always lean towards glass and lighting first.

Get a lens in the 17-55 range, Canon's is great, or you can save money and get the Tamron. Slightly less range, but also a good lens. If you want a lens to grow with you, can you get the 24-70. Not as wide, but provides more length.

Throw in a wide, perhaps the Tokina 11-26, or the Sigma 10-20. Then get a decent prime, perhaps the 85 1.8.

However, if I had 2K and your kit, here is what I might consider: Sell the T2i and nifty. That will net you $500-$600. This brings your spending up to $2500-$2600.

I am going to discuss mostly used gear.

- Used 5D classic ($950-$1100)
- Used 50 1.4 ($300-$350)
- Used 85 1.8 ($325 - $375) T
- Used 580EX or the II ($300-$400)

At this point you would have spent anywhere from $1857 to $2225 and you have a nice set up with change to spare. If you have enough and want a zoom to add, consider the 17-40. That kit can last a while. Other wise you can get a used 5D and 24-70 and that will take your whole budget.
