I would like some input on where I can purchase wholesale supplies for the studio. Examples would be photo folders, envelopes, readymade frames, standard mats, etc....Any suggestions?? Just getting started so all suggestions are welcomed!!

For framing supplies I usually buy from Graphik Dimensions: http://www.pictureframes.com

go to your local camera store... usually they will discount stuff bought in quantity, especially if youare buying more then 100 of the same item, and you don't have to worry about shipping then
otherwise, your not going to get a super deal, all of the above is still dealing w/ a middle person and not the wholesaler themsellf. in order to do that, you will need a tax id and most require a copy of your yellow page ad, cancled chek, business licnese and some go as far as requiring a photo of the outside of your store

Mike that is a great suggestion for someone living in a large metro area, HOWEVER I do not. We do NOT have a camera store within 50 miles of us.

Yo! Dr. A, Do you really think that Mike has a clue as to where you live? There is nothing in your post that tells anyone where you live. I think that you yelling at him is out of line. That kind of response is not called for.:cry: That is not really how things are done on the forums. Maybe you didn't mean it like that but that's how it came across.:rolleyes:
I hope you can find your supplies. It looks like you might have to get them either on-line or through a catalog. Good luck! :):):)

Whoa!! I am in no way yelling at anyone....
And I certainly appreciate all suggestions...I just found it amusing that while some forum members have the luxury of living in larger metro areas where you can find camera/supplies with ease, many of us do not. My last post was simply for that information. I live in rural southern Ohio without any large cities within a 100 mile radius. Huntington, WV is 50 miles and has one retailer which really doesn't help much. Everything I do has to be via mailorder.
I will certainly apologize if my post came across as "yelling", but it certainly wasn't meant to be.

Any art supply store would also be able to supply you locally, and good art supply stores tend to be a little thicker on the ground than good camera stores. But I presume that you do, or can, venture into Columbus or Cincinnati for the occasional buying trip - that would still give you a chance to establish a semi-local connection, which could pay off in other ways (lens rentals, etc.).
