These two pictures are just a taste of my working at Brands Hatch for the launch of the A1 GP. I will post a full series tonight and the story of the three days, including shutter failure of my 1D MK-II.
I hope you like the two samples.

Very nice as usual Ken. Hope you're schedule hasn't been too busy lately, I've missed your fine shots. Would be nice when you share some others, to show the sleek black car of Team Kiwi. :)

Great shots Ken! Both are amazing. Looks like some great angles from the right side of the fence. It was nice to meet you briefly with Glenn on Saturday.
Cheers,
Steve

Both are stunning quality Kenny, I'm quite not sure about the distracting white in the background of the second for me it competes with the subject and leads the eye out of the frame. I guess it doesn't detract too much though given the excellent DOF and sharpness.

Nice looking shots Ken. I guess the A1 GP car was taken on Friday, it really was damp wasn't it?
I'm looking forward to hearing Canon's pronouncement on your Mk II's shutter.

Beautiful Kenny, just beautiful. I have always loved the John Player Special Lotuses. The car popping out of the mist is an awesome perspective.
Waiting for more.

I'll answer a couple of the points raised.
At these big events there are advertising hoardings everywhere and it is virtually impossible to avoid them in a shot. I always heavily concentrate on backgrounds but there is a limit to what is possible from certain locations.
An update on the shutter. I sent the camera to the best Canon authorised service centre I know and they will give me a one week turn around as I am a CPS member. The cost is £200 (UK) or $320 US, including a full clean of sensor, prism etc. What worried me was the discussion I had with a team of other pros at the meeting who have 22 1D MK-II's in their organisation and 17 of them have had shutter failures between 40,000 and 70,000 actuactions. Mine went at 50,000.
Matty, if that was directed at me, I work behind the Armco.

very cool, i posted in this thread after i posted the same question in another, got the old conversation in my head when i typed, lol
I saw a couple of chaps where i was round by the MV center, one with a ponytail and slightly graying, the other younger with a huge lens on a tripod!

I hope you pointed at the chap with tripod and laughed loudly. It's really the kindest thing to do. That or poke them with sticks.
