Yeah, 135L, monopod, 580EX flash last week. 20D, Terastation, laptop, lenses, etc. in June. Well, all that's about half the 1DMk2N, so you take it, but this hobby sure ain't the cheapest around.

Obviously, we love living large. After all, I ain't yet seen a coffin with pockets to take it with ya.

Live everyday to its fullest. I know I do.

Nice statement. I like the part about the coffin.

Thanks. Fact is, I do save for retirement and will hopefully have enough dough to help my three kids out when it comes to a downpayment on a house. Something my parents were never able to do.

If I can do that and have a comfortable retirement, I don't hesitate to buy what makes me happy now.

After 9/11/01, the New York Times ran short biographies on almost every victim. I read them with tears in my eyes. One stuck with me. It was about a gentleman about my age (48) who was quite successful, an investment banker with a 7 figure salary. The only thing he wanted was a sailboat. His wife said "not now, Honey."

Well, he never got that sailboat. That will never happen to me.

DAMN RIGHT!!!!

Never had that really hit home till I saw my dead grandfather wheeled right out his front door.....right out of his home and everything he worked his whole life for. Then it hit me like a wall........life is to live, and have as much fun as you can because you will never know if tonight is the last sunset you'll ever see.

Sorry, got a little OT.........still waiting for the damn batery to charge......lol

Take some advice......start charging the battery when you first open the box. It takes 2 hours.........that will really kill ya. Straps on, memory cards in, you have somewhat idea how to work it..........your ready to go......but no battery....LOL

That happened to me this last weekend with my 20D, but I'd had it for 6 months. It was the first time I ever forgot my battery. My wife and I happened upon a Great Blue Heron in a creek and I have nothing to shoe for it. :)

Really fancy the IIN, just for the quality of the thing, but I am going for the 5D first. Maybe early next year for the N, if funds permitted. But agree with everyone, enjoy it now.

Take some advice......start charging the battery when you first open the box.

not only that, but remember you will want to refresh it a few times, too, to condition the battery. not before you get to use the camera, though.

play with it on the first charge (which would last you plenty of shots, btw) and then 'refresh' it over night. then play with it a lot more. when it's down, refresh it again (instead of simply recharging it). i was told to do 3 full recharge cycles, which is what i have done on all of my batteries when i've received them.

you might also want to do some finger excercises - mastering the two finger buttons takes some dexterity and strength ;) - and of course carry around a bag of rice to get used to the weight.

Well expensive last 2 months for me....Visit New York from Australia for 3 weeks....buy 20D @ B&H. Buy Cards/ lens's etc for 20D. Get home sick of Windows for Photoediting so get new Apple IMAC G5 20". Then find that current epson Stylus photo 830U not up to it for quality of 20D so go and buy new Epson Stylus photo R1800. Then realized the bloody screen colors were not right to printer output so had to go buy a gretamacbeth monitor calibration eye one hardware calibration tool to calibrate damn monitor!!. Now everrythings right but I need a 580 speedlight for indoor pics . Photography is a veritable money pit .

5 weeks after getting back from New York they realease the 5d.........say no more
