hi...
computer = windows 2000 pro
camera = G3

1) i have installed the canon cd b4 pluggin in the camera.
2) rebooted and plugged in the camera
3) everything worked fine...i could download my pix
4) i try to download my pix again...but i get this error...

Code 31 This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device.

5) i have re-installed the drivers from the cd.
6) i have installed the latest twain driver from the web

but in the end...i get the same darn message.

any clue on how to fix this?

thanks

btw...two non-sequitar questions...
1) a CF reader...can it also write to the card too? or do i have to get a cf reader/writer?
2) does having a scanner on my other usb port matter?

A CF reader allows reading and writing, formatting, etc.

I'm not sure if formatting a memory card on a CF reader is a good or bad thing for the G3, in terms of compatibility. I usually format in the camera to be safe...

1. Connect your camera to your PC.
2. Go to Device Manager and uninstall the camera driver from the Imaging devices category.
3. Disconnect your camera.
4. Disconnect any other usb devices (besides a mouse or keyboard), and restart your computer.
5. Once your PC has rebooted all the way, connect your camera.

That should do it!
