View Full Version : Bird That Flies like a Dragonfly?

well i know it isnt a dragonfly, but it was harder to shoot than a dragonfly in flight.it dove ,it climbed, it turned left, it turned right.it did everything but fly straight or in a predictable path.i dont know what kind of bird it is i have tried to find it online.no luck though.it was fun to capture

Great shots. Looks like a tern of some kind. If you want unpredictable flight for a bit of practice, come over and have a go at an aussie galah - I swear half the time I don't think they no which direction they're flying :-)

Immature Forster's Tern. Great shots of difficult to capture birds! They are hard to get in flight I know that!

Great shooting. Terns are very erratic in flight.

Nice captures of the Foresters. We have them in So Calif during the winter and usually have a partial black cap.
