10D question

Ok I am unsure why this is happening maybe someone can shed some light.

I am shooting Jpg Quality Large with a my 10D with a 256 MG CF Card. It is showing me that I can take 206 pictures. I shoot and clear my card and it says now 141 pictures. I shoot and clear pictures and it comes up 158 pictures..... I think you get the idea.

I have tried to reformat the CF Card with the camera and it still never gives the empty card the same amount of pictures allowed.

I have a 10D right here with a 256 Flash card. At Jpeg large medium quality I can get 188 pics on the card.

At Large High quality it drops down to 80 or so.

Are you changing any other adjustments? If the ISO goes up so does the file size,.. in fact any change to exposure has an effect on the file size so it may be that the camera is readjusting the amount of shots available based on your exposure settings?????

In fact I'm sure this is it,. I just swithed from Program AE to Full auto and the count dropped to 177 before my eyes!

Thanks, It was me changing my ISO that was it. I flip through it and wham I am back to 208 pictures at ISO100 to 141 pictures at ISO1600
