BARC Pembrey

Well I THOUGHT about posting some of my A1 GP shots... but that event seems to have been pretty well covered. If you must see them, then click here (http://gallery.ukmotorsportpics.com/c705397.html). I decided I couldn't face the Brands Hatch crowds on Sunday so sloped off to Pembrey in Wales for some back to basics club racing with the BARC. Not the exotic machinery you will see elsewhere but some damn fine racing was had by all.

Nice shots Glenn. I'm liking #4 & #5.
There seems to be a few more Capris on track than there were at Thruxton.

Ahh memories. My first car was a Capri and when i was a kid my dad had a MK1 Lotus Cortina :)

Great stuff , I would be happy to see these as well as the exotics , old Jag , nice capri's (oh the memorie LOL) the last is my favourite though old Tina and a droop snoop:D Thnks for sharing

Your crisp focus is incredible, do you use manual or auto and if auto which mode?

Thanks :) Autofocus, AI Servo on both cameras. The first seven in this set were taken with the EOS 10D, the last two with the 1D Mark II. Shutter speed is 1/320th in all cases.

Thanks Gavin, I was pleased with #4 too. It's a new angle for me at Pembrey and I was using the 500mm on the 10D for a bit of extra reach - I think it worked out well :)

You just have to love those mean looking Capris.
While I aesthetically prefer the MKI Capri, the 6-cyl engines in the MKII ( my first car - yellow with black vinyl roof, but only the 88 hp version :lol: ), and MKIII certainly are tempting...

Yes, the Mark I is the prettier car. The Mark I did come with V6 lumps. In 1970-71 the 3000GT/3000E models boasted a 128bhp 2994cc V6 uprated to 138bhp in the 1971-73 3000GT/3000E/3000GXL. There is also the ultra-rare 148bhp RS3100...

So you see, you can have both ;)
