I am having Maingear put together the following system for me from their parts offering.I am getting their Vybe model with the following key components

processor :Intel i7 2600k
memory : 8 gb(2x4) crucial ddr3 -1333
Hard drive : 1 TB samsung f3 7200 32 cache SATA
Motherboard :intel DH67CL
power supply :seasonic520 watts Bronze cert.
the graphic card is the GTS450 see specs below. Maingear sale rep said I should go with the gtx 460 se 1 gb minimum for photoshop but I am already over budget so it would appear I am better served by skimping on the v card and keep the I7 or do I drop to the I-5 2500k and get a better video card? below are the specs for the gts450

Thanks for your feedback and suggestions

I do not know anyone who builds computers and given the bucks involved I just feel more secure in getting a build with supports and guarantees. Dell and HP are only a couple of hundred cheaper and this company has a good rep though a bit more bucks.

In my opinion, the GTS450 is more than enough. I'm currently using a GTS250, which is around the same tier according to Tom's Hardware. The 250 runs PS fine, and even some moderate gaming. Unless you are planning on doing some serious gaming, I'd take the i7 over the GTX. But again, I don't claim to be an expert, just relaying my experience. Best of luck!

I doubt you'd notice any difference in CS5 between a $100 card and a $500 card. The card you have selected is perfectly fine.

IMO ANY modern graphics card will do fine for photoshop. Unless you are gaming, dont worry too much about spending a lot on one. And this is coming from a guy who spent $629 on his last one.
