Been a member for a long time but sadly I only login to sell and buy. Decided to lurk around on the wedding boards and saw some great stuff so i thought i'd share some.

More can be checked on my

EDIT: originally I had two posts up with a total of 16 images but i just noticed it must have been nuked by one of the mods. I think it's a great way of sharing a story but hey rules are rules. Some of the comments in the post might not make sense since some were in the 2nd post.

Hey Tony... thanks for the comment. As for the second to last it was intended. We were trying something fun with the photos. thanks again

thanks for leaving a comment .. :D your correct. No B&G in the shot. I wanted to incorporate the bridge to give a feel of Brooklyn. I do have some more shots of the BG with the bridge in the back.

Everyone else :: Thanks !!! Greatly appreciated.

Majority of my photos are done with (2) canon 5d mark II's, Majority of the photos in this post are shot with the 35L. My other lenses are 45mm TS, and sigma 85mm, mixed in with a few others, but as mentioned the majority of the photos are shot with the 35L.

The 85mm is my second most used lens. I previously owned the 85L but switched to the sigma 85mm recently. It was the sigma's 1st wedding and I was very pleased.

These are very nice! I can not get crisp indoor photo's like this! I've been using my 7D & 50 1.4, (my most used lens) Did you use natural light, or some flash?
I'm getting my hands on a 5D Mark II soon, but was planning on purchasing a 50L with it, you may have talked me into an 85L - I just have a hard time deciding!

This might be totally unrelated to your issue, but my 2 thoughts are 1. Make sure you shutter speed is fast enough to produce "sharp" or "crisp" images 2. Whatever program you use to export photos make sure you are sharpening the images appropriately for web posting as this makes a big difference and can really enhance the crispness.

edit- looking at your blog, neither of those are likely giving you much trouble. maybe you are just not giving yourself enough credit. Good shots! I love my 85 prime by the way. Make sure to check out the Sigma 85 1.4. It is AMAZING! and less than 1/2 of the canon especially in light of the recent price hikes. Really good subject isolation and makes images pop.

Thanks snaps

For many of the indoor shots I used flash, with a mix of ambient light on some of them. Not sure if you misread my post but I no longer own the 85l, all the 85mm shots were taken with the sigma. I originally sold the 85l for the 70-200II but wanted to travel lighter so I went back to an 85mm. Since you love the 50 it might be a better move to get the 50l, and keep the 85mm 1.8 that you already own.

Great job! Personally, I think the 8 image rule is silly which is why I don't bother posting my work here anymore. Thanks for sharing!

so true. ridiculous, really. outrageous, even.

we should all do the same and then it'd be a great board, wouldn't it?

OP: I love #5, what an awesome wall! And the last one. And yes, thanks for sharing... ;)

How do you get the subjects to pop so clearly from the page? I'm trying to figure out the PP that will help me get my subjects out of the background like these. Can I do it in Lightroom 3?

thanks for the comments and 100% agree with both of you on the 8 image rule especially on a photo forum.

all my edits are very basic and mostly done in LR. I do basic color correction, exposure correction, and contrast edits. once in a while i would tweak it in PS.

Thanks! It gives me hope that I can still cut PS out of my workflow. Would you mind sharing some of your basic settings or techniques you use? I really like the look of your PP and would like to learn some from you! :D
