I did a bit of travel over Easter, which gave me a chance to exercise the G3 on a few new topics. Here is an example of one photo I took in a "walk in avery" in a place called Gold Creek near Canberra:

If you would like to see a few more photos I took on the trip, have a look in the "Travel" album, at the link below.

The one of the fog is not quite representative. It had a strong blue cast before I edited the file. We were on the way home and my memory cards were full. I deleted a picture so I could get this one on the card. Not sure if it was a white balance problem or I should have used a Skylight filter, or both. It was just after sunrise.

Perhaps this will work:

Or this:

If not I am guessing it has to be a GIF file.

Bruce,

Looks like your vacation was for the birds, huh? :)

Good vacation shots. And nice composition with framing, too!

Bruce,
Nice pictures. I think webshots convert the images into wbc files. I have tried to post my picture here from my webshots page and failed.

Thanks guys.

I could not stop myself with so many birds in close proximity. Some of them would land on your shoulder to get some apple, and are happy to prop on your finger. So it was not difficult getting close to these ones.

Some of the smaller birds were shy by comparison. I wished I had a Teleconverter.

If I had more CF memory I would have taken more photos. I noticed the price of CF memory has dropped quite a bit since I bought the G3, so maybe I'll get some more soon. Teleconverter comes first.

I might try storing a picture on another site to see if I can get the embedding to work.

I also took a large panoramic of about 12 frames. Not sure what to do with it now though. Last time I took a panaramic I copied it to a DVD slide presentation and used a crued method of panning, but it was a stop and start type of pan. needs improvement.

Bruce,
I am glad finally you were able to post your photo. That is a very good one, the bird knew you were snapping your G3 by turning his/her head and giving you a nice pose:)

BruceW,

Very nice shot!! You should have taken him home, then you could shoot him all the time.

Looking on your site, I see more really good photos. You have been very busy. Very nice shots.

Smile,
