Hi, anyone know why when I select something in my photo and then do a cut layer with my selection, I get a blue outline of my selection on the final image? How do I get rid of that outline? Thanks

Sorry to answer your question with another question..but I have a question about Photoshop 7.0 as well.
Is there a way to automatically open your pics with a maximized screen with the pic at full size covering the whole screen? My pictures open with a minimized screen. I can't seem to find out how to tweak the set-up...presume it is there.
Thanks in Advance..know there are many talented Photoshop users out there..I just purchased the software and am in a very steep learning curve,

Your description is somewhat vague but if I'm reading you right your background layer must be blue instead of transparent.

To answer George's question I don't think you can open images in full screen. I may be wrong though but I've never encountered it. I like the minimized screen as I sometimes have multiple photo's on the screen.

Thanks Colin,
Appreciate your response. Intuitively with the power of
Photoshop 7.0, one would think there would be a way to open to a full screen..perhaps not. Hope you are enjoying the spring in Vancover as it has finally arrived in Michigan as well...been a long winter.
Best Regards,

There's been lots of rain the past month with a beautiful day thrown in once a week. This weekend has been exceptional. Finally good weather to get all that outdoor work started.

A quick fix for this: once you load your picture, if you double click the “magnifying glass” OR the “hand” icon on the tools toolbar you will get actual pixels or fit-to-screen (I can’t remember which is which)

Hi Guys,

I agree with George... it would be nice if those pictures came in and automatically fit themselves to the screen.

Since they don't, you can Ctrl-0 to fit to screen (slightly smaller which is a good thing for cropping) and Ctrl-Alt-0 for Actual Size (mandatory for sharpening). THOSE ARE ZEROES, by the way, not letters.

As for the line around the layer, this probably isn't the answer but make sure you're not displaying Slices. On the menu bar, click View, Show and make sure Slices is Unchecked. Every once in a while I get this and until you figure out how to get rid of it, it's extremely annoying.

Cheers,

Don
