One more...chased this guy around for a long time. Eventually he, or she, let me get within 10 feet for a few minutes. This is one of the only pictures where she isn't staring directly at me.

Yeah...it does look skinny. It was rummaging for food when I wandered upon it. Unfortunately, I didn't have any.

The landscapes are outstanding. The poor deer is emaciated, don't think she could have run any more.

Nice shots ... especially since you had to overcome the relatively harsh lighting.

That doe is definitely ill ... wouldn't be starvation this time of year ... hope it's not chronic wasting disease.

Deer do get old if they are not killed by hunters (or cars) or taken by predators. When their teeth finally wear out, they are pretty much done.

Thanks for all the comments. That deer was walking around with this one...I figure this is her kin. He's not too small, but he is considerably smaller than her.

Also, the water in the river is really low for this time of the year.
