OK. In the market for a new tripod and am looking for a little direction. Here are my requirements / needs:

- lightweight. It will be used for real estate mostly, which means it will be set up and taken down about 20 times during a typical 1 hour shoot.

- sturdy. It will support a 5d mark II with grip, 16 - 35 L, and manfrotto 501 pan head.

- cost. Less than 400.

I have a gitzo mountaineer but its broken, i fear from the weight and constant toruing of the head. It will be repaired and relegated to appropriate duty.

You might enjoy taking a look at this Feisol 3441T (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=929662). The 3441S (standard) is for those not over 6' in height.

^ for arch shooting I'm rarely over waist level?

also, make sure it has rubber feet. ;)

but honestly, for arch, or real estate, make sure it won't damage the property and make sure it's fast to setup. Weight isn't as big of an issue going from your car to a house IMHO?
