Was thinking of going with Canon lenses. Contacted Canon and they said: "Filters cannot be placed between the Conversion Lens Adapter and the Tele or Wide Converters. We regret this inconvenience."
My question is, Is this so? They "can't" be placed, or is it just Canon's official position? I thought I read someone's thread stating they did place filters between the adapter and the conversion lenses.
"Dang!" if this can't be done. I thought it would be a great compromise. "We regret this inconvenience." --Indeed!!
Anyone have experience with using filters on a G3 with the Canon conversion lenses?
Thanks for any help.

I don't own either lens. However, when I put a filter (polarizer) between the adapter and a lenshood, I experience vignetting at the widest angle. Perhaps this is the only problem?

I have a suspicion that the accessory lens is engineered to be a given distance from the cameras lens and that the addition of filters can possibly affect the infinity focus. Just an educated guess when you think about how bellows and extension tubes are utilized.

I have the Lensmate converter and also a Canon wide angle 0.7x lens, used a polarizer between them and vignetting had appeared!!!!
Will be popping into the store to check if they have any polarizer lens can prevent this!!!

Are you using the 52 or 58mm Lensmate?

It was the 58mm, I also have a 52mm, would be saving that for a tele lens
I have both Canon and lensmate 58mm.....

I have the 58mm lensmate and a wide angle Canon lens for the GL1 video camera, I have used it with a no name polarizer filter between the lens mate and the lens with out any problems. I may just be lucky.
