Does anyone know how to edit/check your database? I have a few pictures that I cannot edit. When I try to, I get an error msg.

"The page cannot be displayed The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings."

I have deleted the image from the DB, and tried to use it again, and the error pops up. Now I am getting the same error on a few other images in the same exhibition. I did a backup of my DB, but don't know what to look for in the text of the backup.

Paul ,

Please don't submit same problem report twice ( http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=9732 ).

Your only option to solve this is to mail me the database dump to pekka@photography-on-the.net net and I'll see what is going on there and how it works here. If I can reproduce problem here too we can rule out a server hardware or OS problem (servers can broke down).

What EE version are you using and have you edited anything in EE source files?

Have you edited the database with PhpMyAdmin or other database tool?

Pekka, I am sorry to submit twice. The problem is slightly different since I can now use the backup utility after your update. I am hoping someone can help me find the way out of my problems.

I emailed you my FTP address, secret folder name, user ID and personal password to my entire website on 4/19 in an effort to take you up on your offer of looking at my site. Since I had not heard from you, I figured you were busy and this post was an attempt at finding help from the general users here on this site.

For several days, I did not try to fix my problems myself since I didn't want to change the database for fear of damaging it more. I have programming experience, but little web and no DB experience. Yesterday, I tried to fix it myself by deleting the exhibition that had the problem, and adding the photos one at a time. Now I am getting more errors and am quite puzzled. At this point I am completely lost and don't know where to turn.

Again, I am sorry to post again, but am desperate in finding a solution to my problem.

I don't know about PHPmyadmin or any other database tool. The only work on the DB was done by the routines of EE. I downloaded a backup of the database and looked at it in a word processor, but couldn't understand the dump enough to even begin to make changes. I think the problem has to do with the way underscores or dashes are handled in a file name, but I am not sure.

So sorry Paul,

Found your mail.

My Eudora's automatic mail filter filtered your mail to a junk mail folder because it contained words "special" and "offer". I really have to redo the spam filters. Sorry about that.

I'll see your site now and report as soon as I have found something.

Ok, I tracked the reason to setting "Show valid paths in photo editor:" which triggers the error page when it is on. I put it off and it all works ok. Same path finder code is used in utility "find size paths" so don't use that for now in your server, it will hang as well.

I'll investigate what the reason is, they had problems with PHP 4.3.1
in one imagesize function in PHP so perhaps it is somehow related to that and your server is eager to display time out messages.

I have your database here now and it seems to be ok. I'll tell you more as I find something to tell.

Thanks a million for your help - well at least $20US. I hope it is enough to buy a drink in Finland.
