Hi, a friend of mine, who organizes marketing events, has asked me to take some snaps of marmalede cans.
I tried. What do you think? Don't show any mercy... :D
Thanks!

Why do you say that?
I only looked at the first picture.
With no mercy, here's my opinion: I think the photography is very good. Ta da!!!

Most people here probably don't photograph jars.

only critique i can give you is that some of your compositions are too symetrical.
Also the background is too dark IMO but that can be just a matter of taste...

Der Tiziano,
I went back and looked a couple more samples in order to get a better flavor of the product (no pun intended). I am curious to know who is deciding on the arrangements. Is that being dictated by the "customer/friend" or is it completely up to you?
If it is up to you, then I think you might use a little more imagination in regard to the way in which the final copy is layed out and presented. Conversely, if the customer is telling you how to arrange the product, then I think you are doing just about everything you could do except make some more extreme changes in perspective.

Probably you are right, but not always you can photograph what you like, expecially if you do it one somebody else demand.
I know that a jar is not creative nor appealing, at least in my pictures, but probably there is room for technical opinions.
Thanks the same! ;)

Hi Robert, thanks a lot for the help and hints you are providing to me and others in this forum. I read your posts always with great interest, and I'm astonished by your work on trasmission lines.
About your question: the guy who asked me the pictures has been very clear on the kind of images he wanted: very simple and plain images of a marmalade jar. Nothing complex or creative, because they are going to remove the jar from the background, and insert it in a composition with many other elements, to be printed in big posters for their exposition.

These are good. Are they to be used in advertising for the product?

Thanks! It should be used for posters, in an exposition not for a specific brend, but for supporting the local agriculture and local products. If the guy who asked this to me will like it, I'll have to remove the brand name and some of the writings on the label, and I'll have to take pictures of a long list of local products.

These are good, are they going to be posted in some advert. add? if so you might want to make the background a bit more litghter and get rid of the shadowos.

Thanks - the transmission lines don't get much buzz from this group - Hi!
