Okay I've been trying to post an image in Share Photo most of the day.
Would someone explain what I need to post an image directly in one of these topics. I've tried taking one off my hard drive, web page, and pbase, all to no avail. So far the best I could do is paste a url to a pbase gallery I just started.
Thanks Eric

To do it from a web page,. type it like this;
{img}insert image url here{/img}
But,. you must type the {} brackets as [] this kind of bracket. See if that works.

Iwas trying to get some info wheather I could post an image from pbase or another web page. all I seem to get is a red X. I don't think I'm doing the brackets wrong , but I'm definitley not getting an image . Ex:

Eric,
At one time, direct links to pbase images were only allowed, if you had made a donation. Perhaps, this policy still applies. I don't know as I stopped using them when I built my own site.
I just your post by replying with quote and the img.../img entry is correct, and the URL takes me to a picture when cut and pasted.

Thanks Roger,
I did donate to pbase. But the braketed img doesn't do anything but give that big red x . So I must deduce that I can't insert an image through pbase or my ISP web page. So I guess the only way for me to put up an image is through URL .Too bad I though Pbase was the answer.

So I registered JUST so I could respond to you, feel special.
Right click the image in pbase and go to properties (provided you are using IE)
There, you will see a lable that says "Address" the URL next to it is what you need to link to, for that particuluar one it is:
http://image.pbase.com/u27/elm54/upload/15931814.RainWin.jpg
So you would put that between the image brackets.

Yes I do feel special , but my momma tol' me that too :D
I tried all you told me and It really looked like it worked for me on this computer ( and I was excited and ready to heap much gratitude upon you ) and I do thankyou just for your taking the time to answer. but when I tried to view it from my mac which was not logged onto my pbase account I still got the red X . It seems a direct link is all I can get with out my own web server. Thanks again
Peace Eric

The problem with the link above and perhaps the other pics that you are trying to link to,. is that it is forbiden by the server to direct link to it. (thats what I get when I click on the link above,.. no pic) So even if it shows up on a PC where you have an account with the server,. it will not show up for anyone else that is not logged in. To pull this stunt off {the bracket /img stunt} you need to be hosted on a server without a log in etc.
