I have successfully used the VirtualDub program to rotate a landscape AVI to a portrait AVI. I've even managed to find the correct codec so that the video will play with Quicktime which ZoomBrowserEx insists on using (I use the Intel Indeo 5.1 codec). However, the thumbnail remains in its original orientation. I understand that the thumbnail is stored in the thm file with the same base name as the AVI.
What I would like to know is how to rotate the image in the thumbnail. I know it must be possible and I'm hoping there is someone out there that might be able to point me in the direction of some suitable software. I'm using a Canon S30.

Thanks,
Anthony.

If the THM file for an AVI is in the same format as a THM file for a still shoot, then all you need to do is use an image editor to rotate it. If your software doesn't recognize the file extension, then rename the extension to JPG, then rename it back to THM when you're done.

Before you do anything, though, create a backup copy of the thm in question so that if things get messed up and you really want the original back, you'll be able to do so.
