This is for general chat and off TPBM topic items. Enjoy!
Edit 07/14/07: For those who may wander by, stop in and say hello :D We are a friendly, albeit odd, bunch and welcome any and all.

As you can see from the first shot....the subject looked like Mr. Clean in dirty clothes. Not very convincing as a worker on a steam locomotive. We asked the people that were posing if they would mind getting a little dirt on them....they all refused. :(

define "a little dirt". You wanted to pour a can of used oil on them, and make them look really scruffy/dirty?

ROFL.....nah! Nothing that extreme. There is a fair bit of soot and ash to be found on a steam locomotive....just a dab here and there would have made things much more realistic. I think I got more dirt on me taking the photos than they did posing.

Hello folks....almost got lost but then saw that there was a leg lamp thread!! YAY!! Even to compact them into here! Wow...that's gonna be lot's o leg lamps.
Hi Robert. How is Mari and the kids?
Mari is good Heather. Just has to travel out of town every other week for 2 days at a time OR spend one LOOOONG day out of town to see as many docs as possible.
Or I would have looked in the mirror to see a giant swollen blood filled tick dangling like a grey grape from my eye lid.
Dang Zane....apparently you are no longer a chick-magnet...but now a tick-magnet....ew.
Racing and such, a few more HERE (http://shortwave5.smugmug.com/Steeplechase/2011/Elkridge/16580368_oZScu) I think they look best on slideshow.
Great set....whoa on the head-diving horse
Run ELvis Run ..hehe
*packs leg lamp*
I thought we burned that on the lawn, about 38 threads ago.
We did. Terri keeps buying new ones.
Here, Lonnie - put it in this nice cabinet, right over here. The one labeled"Trash Compacter". Yep, that's the one.

Jon, if you didn't see my fb post and you are an organizational freak (like the dragon and mouse) this is a FAST/Easy way to keep books organized on your reader (if you use calibre).
(note: insert your own reader in the step 5 "choose" section)
Step 1 - Download CALIBRE from http://calibre-ebook.com/
Step 2 - Add your books to your CALIBRE libary. You can just drag and drop them there.
Step 3 - Click PREFERENCES at the top right of CALIBRE.
...
Step 4 - Click SENDING BOOKS TO DEVICES and put {series}{series_index:0>2s| - | - }{title} into the save template. Click Apply.
Step 5 - Under preferences again, click METADATA PLUGBOARDS. Under add new plugboard, on the dropdown menu under format, choose EPUB, on the device, choose KOBO and put {series}{series_index:0>2s| - | - }{title} into the source template with the destination field TITLE.
Save plugboard.
Heather, I don't know how sony sorts things but this would work with yours too.

We're currently at around 100 or so shelves in 8-10 book cases at 60+ books per shelf. That would all fit nicely on a single 8 GB SD card. Which would Ali prefer you have? I know where Ann's preference is.

Couldn't quite tell whether it opened the door or locked it down, it happened so fast. I think it was a fake eyeball though, which was the point of Palmer's comments.

Ann keeps telling me it's a lot. Not sure I agree. After all, it's probably less than 1/10 of the books I've read . . .

We're currently at around 100 or so shelves in 8-10 book cases at 60+ books per shelf. That would all fit nicely on a single 8 GB SD card. Which would Ali prefer you have? I know where Ann's preference is.
Ali already hoodwinked me into getting rid of a lot of books. I'm now standing firm, my books are part of the furniture.

Jon, we came to the same conclusion here when we packed up before the remodel. Dozens of boxes of books. We've "thinned the herd" but still have way too many books, but at least I'm not adding to the stacks now that I have a Kindle.

For me, some of them have sentimental value, and they're staying no matter what. Most of the books we got rid of were the popular pulp fiction stuff.
The next step is clearing out the old National Geo's and my Archeology journals and buying the CD's.

Noted. Haven't dived in that deep. I just sort by author (with authors in Mystery and SF in their own subdirectories).
Yep, I use it; didn't I tell you about Calibre?
probably...there's been so much input, I've forgotten what came from where.
The above works GREAT for series books. Major organization.

LOVED re-reading the toons!! What fun!
Couldn't quite tell whether it opened the door or locked it down, it happened so fast. I think it was a fake eyeball though, which was the point of Palmer's comments.
Ann keeps telling me it's a lot. Not sure I agree. After all, it's probably less than 1/10 of the books I've read . . .
The eye opened the MTAC door. I thought it was real...must've missed something. Then again, there were two boys laughing and playing in the living room when I was watching and couldn't hear a lot of the show.
I would love to have my own mini-library...but as Ann....Mari tells me we already have too many books :|. They barely fit in the closet shelves and won't let me start bringing them out to shelves in the office. She even wants to throw out all my photography magazines!
The next step is clearing out the old National Geo's and my Archeology journals and buying the CD's.
I'll never throw out my photo mags!

Good evening everyone. Went and cut off my hair today. Donated it to Locks of Love - it is really short though, it does not even hit my collar right now.
I am not that picky - they go in by date downloaded into the computer and the reader puts them in alphabetical order

I have even went as far as researching on how to stop the tap-tap-tap every minute for as long as there is daylight....I printed out silhouettes of hawks and taped them to the inside of windows that are supposed to scare the cardinals off. But that did not work...they tap at the panes with the papers taped to them. Another thing I don't really want to try, is soaping the outside of the windows to cut the reflections. But then I can't see through clear windows and it would be unsightly. So...I've taken to putting up a fake barn owl next to the office window, but the cardinals go to the dining room windows or the living room windows. :|

He was in the previous show...when Gibbs was pissed about finding out that EJ was brought in for that serial killer and was forced to work with her. Gibbs has mentioned several times he does not want to move up and even Tony has turned down the "Boss" slot...EJ took his in Spain. It is curious though...especially that they brought in the new agents...the one guy who played in Numb3rs.

I am still weeding out 'classics' on the K, so not quite as tidy as I want it, but we are getting there :)

It has to be the Director.....the only other possibility was Ziva's boy toy.....but his eye wouldn't control the door. Gibbs has to take the job this time....honor and all that stuff.

:| Dood. really? I don't do sparkly. :|
You so do sparkly.
Heck yeah the Rangers are off to a good start....even with the loss today down to the last inning.
Been busy over in LV?
Very busy. Business is good but they keep laying off all of my help. So now it is down to pretty much just me.
It looks like I might starting guiding for a company here that does kayaking and hiking tours. Plus they have ziplines setup in the mountains just outside of town.

It's going to be a long week till next week...if it will be a new show. I didn't see any previews for next week, so it may be reruns :|.
Yeah, Gibbs would have to step up to the plate one day...especially to evolve the show....but I bet he would still go to the field to work.

Zoë and her big boy friends. The two giant Cane Corsos are regular play friends but Marley the little pit is a new friend.
How a water dog gets away from boys of the non water persuasion.

Layoffs suck....but even with good business? Weird.
So you'll be a tour guide for kayaking and hiking tours? Cool!
There are several guys around here that are hunting and fishing guides....I always wanted to do the fishing guide thing....but I don't have a boat.

The 100mm macro is not an ideal dog action lens, just saying. I have some great shots I took with the dogs running at me in AI Servo. They out ran the lens:-| Wool, would the new 100mm keep up? It is faster, yes?
