Ever thought your banging your head against a brick wall? I've just been on the phone to to Virgin as I noticed that they have changed the price and speed of their large BB pack, the one I've got, to a faster speed and cheaper price but my speed or price has not changed. When I finally got through to a chap on the subcontinent first of all he denied such a price for the large package existed and said he could upgrade me for an extra £3.50 a month, I pointed out that I was looking at the price on my PC as we were talking and he still said no it isn't on the website. He then went off and checked the website and told me that I'd have to get it through the website, which I tried to do only to be told to phone Virgin up to get it.

 times like these remind that Max ADSL is no longer 'fast' chugging along at measured 2.7Mbps last time I ran the test :( My exchange is not even slated for 21CN or even FTTC, heh ho at least better than FRIACO ever was . ;)

I only get 10meg and they are doing 50meg for £1 less than I'm paying at present. I'm looking for a UK based customer service number for them to I can have a moan at someone that speaks English :)
In other news for those who are in the area the Red Arrows are about in Kent and Sussex.
1322 Reds arrive Manston
1547 Reds depart Manston
1600 Reds display at Rye
And the Western Heights in Dover are having their open weekend.

I've just watched a very moving program that was on BBC3, not a channel I watch a lot as I'm not really in their demographic, called Our War: 10 years in Afghanistan most of the footage was film by the soldiers themselves and gives a real insight into what they go through.

Forest??? Is there any left?
 I thought there would be a few more trees too. Just did a search on the area, turns out there weren't many about to begin with.
Despite its name, woodland makes up less than 40% of the total area of Ashdown Forest and it is doubtful whether that figure was ever much higher. The word “forest” is derived from the Latin "foris", meaning “outside” and in medieval England came to mean land outside cultivation and belonging by default to the Crown.

i visited Basildon House (National Trust) this morning as they were having a 1950's weekend theme for the property. I was very suprised to find out that they have dropped there rather restrictive photography restrictions inside the properties. Apparently we can now snap away as long as we dont use a flash! Being a rather wet and overcast day i didnt take my camera. So i had to do my best with my phone instead. I got some really nice photos of 1950's fashion and items. Topped of with a trip to the pub for lunch and a pint a nice day out despite the deluge of rain in Berkshire!

You can drive right up to the entrance of the field its in, come off the roundabout as if going to Sainsburys, but turn left before the entrance...........round to the big Porsche place go down the road and right down the bottom there is a sharp right hand turn, you will see the lane and gate right in front of you, just drive down it for about 600yards and the fieldis on your right. If you go round the bend and end up at Homebase you have gone too far and missed the lane.

Pity about the TTC but these two are the "dogs", great to see the clear visor in the first banking turn and the 'winning fists waved' with the eye contact are just right :) Heck of a job well done :D

If you get a chance to see either a repeat or highlights of F1 that is definitely worth watching.
Morning all ... Had a GREAT day yesterday ... Am hoping Lee might be able to send me a few pics of it as I stupidly didn't pick up my camera all day!! But I was overwhelmed with presents and treats ... I need to put my camera batteries on charge because a friend is taking me to Svalbard on Saturday for 4 days ...!!!! So I need to think what lenses I need to hire between now and then!! And then I could take them onto Farne too!! Any thoughts and ideas? Lee and I started discussing it yesterday but everyone complained we weren't talking English!!
Glad you had a great day and very jealous. i need to change my friends. re lenses I think a 300 2.8 has to be worth considering. Very versatile and not as heavy as the 400.

Lovely shot
i visited Basildon House (National Trust) this morning as they were having a 1950's weekend theme for the property.
About time too.

F1 yesterday was fantastic, sterling drive from JB and a well deserved win. About time that bloke got some luck! :-)
Pleased to say that this year i've finally photographed a poppy field. Full info and explanation on my FlickR, but this was the last few minutes of the sunset when we got there so had to make do. Going to head back during the week when its better weather for a different composition/take on it :-)

It is a 30th birthday bash in a hotel in Ashford and they want a corner set up for dressing up and larking about in silly hats and then photos taken of them doing so...fairly straight forward stuff. If any of you kindly folk can take this on for me I would be very grateful. I think it is a 7 or 7.30pm start. PM me for details if you're interested.

True, if you have not seen it this (http://www.visitnorway.com/en/Articles/Norway/North/Svalbard/What-to-do-on-Svalbard/) might be of intrest, see the safety section.

I didnt read any of that stuff. The way i saw it was either have the photo sitting there doing nothing or enter competition with possiblity of winning something.

That is a stunning shot!!
Guys, I need a favour if anyone can help out - my mother in law passed away at the end of last week :( and I have a photo job this Friday evening that I'm not really in the mood for.
Sorry to hear that Mike.. I'd love to help out but its a little far for me and I'm up London Saturday/Sunday! Could maybe message Dan Desbrough?

Lovely series Mike! :D
Just back from an explore with Victor, not your average day.. We hit up an old farm cottage littered with old cars.. Very odd, but made for some cool pictures! :D

No worries mate, Sly has taken it on (thanks Sly :)) and I never really considered Dan - he's not on here any more and I prefer to ask the regulars.

Mike, sorry for your loss. Can't help Friday I'm afraid as I just agreed to step into a T20 side that's short of players on Friday afternoon. Hope you can find someone.

+1 - wonderful poppy shot
+1 fantastic wedding series ... Giving me ideas for the wedding I am shooting next month!!
True, if you have not seen it this (http://www.visitnorway.com/en/Articles/Norway/North/Svalbard/What-to-do-on-Svalbard/) might be of intrest, see the safety section.
I have taken a eye cover ( what you get on a plane) to help block the light out.
It really throws you as you sit out in the evening, then look at your watch and it's 11PM and still daylight !
Thanks for that - I've been trying to do some hurried reading as I've not got long to plan things - at least I already have ski gear ... And mostly my current camera gear will suffice! Might need an extra polarising filter but in general I should be ok!!
yes they have claws !
guns vs. claws? doesn't seem very even to me? unless they are heatseeking explosive claws!?
EDIT: this seems fairer...

I hope the Polar Bears are suitably armed to even the playing field... :(
thanks fella!
working on a hand-grenade & flame thrower version this afternoon!:lol:
Superb!! Not sure if anyone else saw the programme around Christmas time of the hidden cameras where the polar bears ended up playing football with one of the cameras ... Until one literally stamped on it till I broke!! Not sure I'll see that ... But the babies should be out of their dens so fingers crossed .... I don't mind if they're just little White dots in the distance even!!!! Not sure I want to see one with a rocket launcher though!!
We'll be staying to the well travelled routes so I don't expect any issues ... Famous last words ;)

Very cute and another great cartoon
Im still buzzing from the F1 yesterday - What a drive by Button - just incredible. Hope he can push on in Spain..
28 DL meet details to follow today, still buzzing from the best F1 race in 15 years and an epic Le Mans over the weekend.... I'm petrol headed out!
I haven't seen any of the F1, sounds interesting though..
Missed Le Mans but as you said wow what a grand prix, certainly made up for the rain delay. Where did he find the extra performance from and fingers crossed he maintains it for the rest of the season. Watching Vettel win has become a bit boring !!
