(also - if you clear cookies/cache or change browser you can vote over and over again.)

hehe! I am very grateful for them ;) Thanks everyone!
We'll see what happens;)

I wonder if dizee actually picked the photo himself. Wonder if it's an indication the votes are quite high???
You can probably do something like a cache clear but im not au faix with that sort of thing!

Morning all,

F1 yesterday was fantastic, sterling drive from JB and a well deserved win. About time that bloke got some luck! :-)

Pleased to say that this year i've finally photographed a poppy field. Full info and explanation on my FlickR, but this was the last few minutes of the sunset when we got there so had to make do. Going to head back during the week when its better weather for a different composition/take on it :-)

Well done mate :)

Guys, I need a favour if anyone can help out - my mother in law passed away at the end of last week :( and I have a photo job this Friday evening that I'm not really in the mood for.

It is a 30th birthday bash in a hotel in Ashford and they want a corner set up for dressing up and larking about in silly hats and then photos taken of them doing so...fairly straight forward stuff. If any of you kindly folk can take this on for me I would be very grateful. I think it is a 7 or 7.30pm start. PM me for details if you're interested.

Sorry to hear your bad news, Mike. I hope someone can step in for you. Anyone?

Whoa! Thanks for all the very kind comments, didn't quite expect that reaction to it.

I personally love poppies, so as soon as we found "the" field I was like a little kid running down with my tripod. Unfortunately we had about 10 minutes before the sun had set, so was a rushed effort. Really looking forward to going back this week when the weather is better and having a second attempt. There was a better field further over which looked much more populated, can't wait! :D

@Richard where did you take the poppy field, have looked at your geo tag on flickr but there does not appear to any water near it? or is it me being stupid

edit is it by the lake a couple miles north of the golf course

It's taken near Hitchin just off the A1(M) in Hertfordshire. Not sure what you mean regarding water as there shouldn't be any in the picture

I popped up my lane this evening just for a gander. I spotted this shot, so i came home and got my camera. Its a really nice weather vane. The sky was beautiful. But typically when i got the camera, it went all plain. :)

I agree, it does look like water behind the field of poppies. But in the photo that Hannah took you can see it rises up therefore it cant be water.

I don't do coffee either, which is why having one or two should keep me up throughout the evening. I generally have to mix it with hot chocolate or something though, I really don't like the taste ;)

Anyone looking for some 'relatively' cheap studio lights (http://www.amazon.ca/900W-3X300W-Lighting-Photography-Studio/dp/B003LZ6LYU/ref=pd_rhf_p_t_4)? Makes me wish I was living back home still, I'd pick up 6 or 7 of these ;)

Of course it is walkable on P Company we had to do 28km in four hours with half an hours rest over the Brecon Beacons carrying 22kg of kit. So a stroll from Docklands to Westminster carrying a camera is doable or are you all a bunch of wimps?:D ;) I can't make it now anyway as my dog sitter has inconsiderately decided to go on holiday.

Right here are rough plans.

Sunset is scheduled for 9.20pm, looking at tide tables, for London Bridge on Saturday High Tide is at 16:31 (6.80m) and Low Tide at 23:23 (0.40m) so at around sunset and shortly after the tide will be lowish at Tower Bridge, possibly allowing us to get down onto the banks to get a shot at sunset, if else there is a bridge lift at 8.45pm
http://www.nealhumphris.co.uk/images/sunset.jpg

after that and by dark, roughly follow the route below in my anti southbank walk (might be an idea to walk into the square mile for some night skyscraper and orb stuff too)

Park in Tower Hill for the start, then Tube from Embankment back when we're all finished?

Have you checked with TfL or at weekends (TnfL Transport not for London) which of the Tubes is planned to be broken

Good point.

Matt, Neal's idea of parking in westminster and taking the jubilee line to London bridge works better. The circle/district lines are closed where you need them.

apologies for not posting this yet, ended up in hospital last night with my dad, details to follow shortly for the meet, and on both the met office and the beeb, Friday is ****e and Saturday and Sun are listed as sunny intervals.
Get your head stuck in a saucepan again? :p
All of that set were wonderful, Mike. But this one just speaks volumes, there's just so much emotion in this shot and yet it doesn't feel intrusive.

Really sorry to hear of this, mate.

Thanks mate and happy birthday to you! :)

Nar that was yesterday, I've come in for a break today. My painting was getting slapdash as I was tired and sick of it, so time to stop for a few days and play with the drain instead and chose a new bathroom.

Looks like a bumpy ride up there in those clouds, I'd down a few more pints ;)

and Happy Birthday Pete.

You'll have to come really, really late to miss it, so whenever you join we'll likely be around somewhere :)

Couple of photos from my neighbouring cemetery I took the other week.

Thank you guys for the Birthday wishes. Spent the day with Ali, but went out for a Thai with a friend in the evening and had a couple of drinks. Was a nice evening.

I got a supercar driving experience for my birthday. Never done one of these before.

So I have the choice of running a few laps in a:-

Audi R8 4.2 V8
Fezzer 360
Lamborghini Murcielago
Aston Martin DB9 (or V8 Vantage)

I'm unsure of which to choose. I'd like the fezzer, but I might not get used to it in the 3-4 laps that I'll get. So I'm tempted by the R8, which I know is the more approachable drive, so I might get more enjoyment out of it.

Any thoughts from you guys?
