Here's one for all you purveyors of fine machinery.
Photographed last Saturday at an air pageant that featured a replica of the original Wright Brothers 1903 aircraft - and it flew too, higher and further (twice!) Buzz Aldrin was even there to witness the event. And where you may ask did all this happen? Good ol' Australia, that's where!

WOW! That's one RARE bike! I've only ever seen one once before, and that was in a private collection. :D
Did you get to hear it run? I'm curious how it might sound.

Nah - didn't hear it running. It was at the show when I arrived and when I walked out through the display ground again it was gone. Had my Dad with me at the time. He's 82, and old pilot (loved the air show of course) and used to also own a Squariel. And parked a couple of bikes away was a similar bike to my Honda 750/4. So we talked the whys and wherefores of both. The Honda won - of course. Now you know where my avatar comes from!

Hi Steve, nice shot of the Mk 11 SQ4, my father-in-law has a Mk1 sitting in his shed along with a bunch of 500 cc singles.

Didn't see the Wright Flyer in action - was too busy doing the static displays, and Buzz Aldrin was droning on too long about walking on the moon. Did get some shots of the flyer though and will post them here soon. And yes RockOne - this was at Narromine.

I promised you a shot of the Wright Flyer. This was well after its flights and on the way back to the hangar. It took 5 years to build and cost $250,000. Only received its Certificate of Air Worthiness a couple of days prior to its maiden flight. There's some talk of taking it to France and flying it across the English Channel to one of the big air shows in the UK next year. Enjoy.

Okay guys and gals. I'm on a roll here. Couple more shots for you from Narromine.
Looking at these 2 machines gives you an idea of the evolution of the hot rod.
Grandma Duck - eat your heart out!
