Another post you made sugguested that you are using Auto mode all the time? There are several problems with auto: the inability to set white balance and the inabilty to use RAW (among others).
A color cast is often a problem of improper white balance. One can manually vary this or use the custom white balance or change the color cast with the levels command in PS LE that came with your G-1.
It is also well documented that JPEG shots with the G-1 can result in some color casts (magenta). By shooting in RAW and converting to JPEG this solves this color cast problem as well, and gives you the opprotunity to reset the WB to what ever you choose after the fact.
In general, Full Auto is not a G-1 strong point. It has many manual adjustments for camera parameters, and those that are happiest with this camera use those adjustments frequently. Instead of Auto try the P mode, exposure is essentially automatic, but you will have to turn on the flash when it gets dark. In P mode you can use many of the other G-1 features such as WB setting, exposure compensation, flash compensation, bracketing, and RAW.
