problem with s50

Hi, I bought my canon S50 yesterday and when I flipped it upside down I heard a small sound. I’m not sure if it’s something that broke in the camera or if it’s a part that is supposed to move. If someone could let me know I would appreciate it. Thanks

I think it is a device by which the camera detects that you are taking a vertically oriented picture, and that the camera will show the picture horiozntally oriented on the LCD. Try it out yoursef.
