Without reading any responses to my first question, I have pretty much already determined that I will be getting a D30, most likely via a mail order / internet house.
Anyone have any experience with either Broadway Photo (www.bwayphoto.com) which currently prices the camera at $1539 or Royal Camera (http://store.yahoo.com/royalcamera/) which currently prices them at about $1600?
I know I will need to contact whatever outlet I use to make sure that they have the rebate and warranty stuff, I just wanted to make sure that I get all the goods when I place an order.
Great board by the way! I hope to have some images to share with you taken with my D30 soon!

Steer clear of these bait and switch houses. They will Sell you a gray market camera Use resellerratings.com and bizrate.com . This is a big purchase and you should be very knowledgeable about what and who you are buying from. The loww ball prices usually are to good to be true. Make sure you get a USA version, stay away from broadway camera...!!!!!

"Anyone have any experience with either Broadway Photo..."
I wish I had a nickel for every time I've seen this question.

Thankfully you guys have forwarned me about them. It did not take me very long to review their customers comments on the retail reseller rating to figure out to steer far away from them!
THANKS!

Where ever you shop, make sure you are getting the Camera body, battery, strap, charger, cords, battery eliminator cord.
Broadway is terrible. Rude, gets you off the phone as quick as you can. They are guaranteed to call you back and say "Sorry, would you like to try this instead....?"
Consider the full package if the Microdrive rebate is still available.

I also plan on buying a D30 soon and have heard under no circumstance buy one from Broadway Photo. I read about Focus Camera on www.photo.net and they have had mostly positive comments. I did a "test run" purchase with an EOS Elan 7 and they by far had the best price and they clearly mark their US and Grey Market products on the web page. They told me before ordering that it was not in stock but would call when it came in. They called within 3 business days and shipped it that day and gave me the UPS tracking number. They were very polite and cordial on the phone and didn't pressure me about anything, in fact they even recommended to only buy US warranty on the camera body but for lenses, if you want, to get an international version. I will let you know how it goes. Also, they have had the best US warranty price for the D30.
