Well I decided to do it. Two years after getting the first four ABs.
I have two AB400's on the way, so as soon as they arrive I will have
two AB1600
two AB800
two AB400
Part of me still is thinking about sending the 1600's back to get them downgraded to AB800, but part of me addicted to toys just thinks that's wrong. I will see if the AB400's work out.

For those of you not following my choices. I decided to add a fifth light to my collection because I found a nifty technique that made me use what had been my spot fill light, so I needed another light.
I currently plan to set up as
- Main AB800 (Giant Softbox)
- Main Fill AB800 (currently Umbrella going to be 35" Octobox (softbox))
- Hair light (bouncing off ceiling) AB1600
- Side highlight (lights the side of the back to highlight the outline - nice effect I found) - Currently AB1600 shooting off black umbrella, but will be AB400 through brolly.
- and spot light as needed AB400.
Leaving an AB1600 for spare (or if I find I need two spots then back to black umbrella)

I am running out of room in my living room/studio and am starting to get nervous that I will forget and plug everything into one circuit. But I am getting closer to how I want my lighting to work.

Should I mention that I order a bunch of other stuff like filters, holders for same and since I a snoot (to play with)?
On a final note, I really needed them this Monday, but it would cost to much so I compromised and had them overnight the background bee kit (one AB400, stand, and honeycomb) and the rest will come more slowly.

Have fun take pictures, I will be this weekend

How big's your lounge?! Do you leave everything set up all the time, or put it up and take it down? I use my lounge but I have to set up/take down because I don't have much room :(

My living room is about 20' by 15' by 11' and I set up in the adjacent hallway putting my camera about 10' from model .
in a line from wall to camera....
- Wall
- backdrop legs (lose 3 feet)
- backdrop
- background props (lose 2-4 feet)
- space (lose 1-2 feet if background props, 4-6 if no background props)
- model/subject (usually given a 2' x 3' area to move in)
- space (10-12')
- Camera when on tripod, closer when off tripod usually associated with me playing with 16-35 lens.

It is just easier to show my layout.
