Found this whilst out on my weekly 25 mile stroll in the English Peak District. It was sitting atop a drystone wall, smiling at me . . . .

Can anyone guess what it was before it became a wall ornament ?

It is indeed a catseye ( minus its eyes ). Why it was sitting atop a wall in the middle of nowhere is a complete mystery to me - the nearest major road was at least 5 miles away . . . . . .
