A40 Tele lenses

Lo m8's. I own a powershot A40 few moths ago and now i'm thinking about attach a good lens to it. I really enjoy tele lens and i want to know if there are third-party lenses and if they are better than the one from canon. The adapter from canon is good for third-party lenses ??

I have owned an A40 since Nov. 02. It is my first digital camera. Just today, I received a wide angle (0.5x) lens and a 2x AF telephoto lens (Opteka Brand) that I ordered from 47St. Photo through EBay. At this point, I am disappointed with the pictures I have taken today using these new lenses. When I use the flash with either lens, I get a shadow on the lower right quarter of the picture. Is this a common problem with accessory lenses, including Canon brand add-on lenses?

Also the 2x tele lens seems to add very little to the camera's 3x optical telephoto. With the 0.5x lens, I get a very noticable fisheye effect. Would appreciate any comments.
