A friend has been on my butt to shoot some photos of his car this past week. We made some time last night to see what we could come up with. After we had everything almost set up, I realized I forgot the tripod at home :P Both were shot with a shutter speed of 1/6 at f/5.6 on ISO 400. Comments welcomed!

#1 is an excellent shot (at this size at least). You could probably see a little bit of camera shake unless you have a reaaaallllllyyy steady hand :D:

Thanks guys! At full resolution, they look like they look like they were taken with a soft lens but no ghosting. I set up two shoe mount flashes about 10' from either side of the car with green gels attached. They were above the roof line and aimed down. I placed a third shoe mount flash with an amber gel behind the car and aimed it up at the building. After converting with the AWB settting in Canon EVU I decided to use the cooling filter in CS2 on the images. I'm going to have some other car owners lined up in the near future - I'll make sure I don't forget the tripod then :D

#1 looks very decent, esp for being handheld
you have a good eye for composition

I'm surprised you can hold a camera that steady at 1/6, I have issues on anything under 1/25 :p

Thank you all for your kind words :D FWIW, I shot this with a 17-40 f/4L around 24mm-28mm; 1/6 is still a stretch but not as much of one as if I were using a longer lens ;)
