Hi everyone,

i've just ordered a lens adaptor for my S30 which comes with a 37mm thread.

Wondering what brand or type of lens to get next....

Any recommendations?

I am especially interested in shooting insects so will need a good marco lens and a telephoto for faraway objects.

Is telephoto lens able to be combined with marco lens?
Can i use them together at the same time?

What is the difference between telephoto and teleconvertor lens?

Sorry to ask so many questions again.

Thanks a zillion for your help.

I just got an adapter for my s30 along with a set of tiffen +10 and +7 close-up lenses, and have been happy with the results.I find a tripod very necessary when stacking these lenses together.I have some sample pics shot of a spider that is no larger than a pea.

Wow, nice spider, too bad that the background is not even but it's a good shot anyway. Can I ask you how how far it is from the spider to the camera? Been planning to get the closeup lenses, but I can't find it in local shop.

Yea,I could not get him on a flat surface, but was surprised it turned out as goood as it did.The spider was just under 2 inches from the camera.

That is pretty sharp, going by S30 standards.

What is the thread size of the close-up lenses?

Is the close-up lenses same as marco lenses?

These are close up lenses or known as diopters, and the set I have are 37mm,that can be used separately or threaded together.
