I use an imac with iPhoto, when i import photos from my Canon Powershot S30 they all import into iphoto fine until the camera seems to go to 'sleep' the green light stop flashing and the last few images just don't import - Aslo it recognises how many images are in the camera. It seems to be a 'time issue' because if I only have a few pics to import its fine, but if its twenty or so it 'times out'..any ideas how i can keep the camera 'active'. The pics import fine using the canon software, but i prefer using iphoto.

Your best bet is to get a firewire card reader. They are only about $50 and you'll transfer 30 images in under a minute. Good Luck!

I've had the same problem with the same setup. I think that the camera doesn't detect any activity during uploading, and so goes to sleep - which then shuts of the transfer. It only happend about 80 pics or so.

So, when I'm transferring, I make a habit of pushing some buttons on the camera (for instance, scroll thru the pics on the display) to keep the camera awake. If I do this, I have no problem.
