Hi!

I'm new to digital photography and have an S30.
I need advice on how to take photos of my dog or cat inside.
When I use the flash, I get red eye.
When I set the flash for red eye reduction, the pets close their eyes.

Is there a way on the Canon S30 to set the camera so that I can take pictures of my pets inside without getting red-eye or their eyes closing?

Thanks,
Addie

Get them closer to windows where there is more natural light. Turn off the flash and go manual. Choose the appropriate shutter speeds.
Here's an example of my cat Tasha aka guts.

Thanks for the suggestion. There are so many wonderful photo opportunities interior instead of by a window though.
I just don't understand how others can get such good pet pictures, and I can't.
Perhaps I bought the wrong kind of camera.

Your picture of Tasha aka "Guts" is very sweet.
