I need some help with b/w converstion. I've read that some are using the monochrome feature for multichannels in PS but I can't seem to get it the way I want. How to bring out certain colours for deeper shawdows. Is there a tutorial online that I can look at?
Also with this photo, I'd like to turn down the intensity of the colour a bit. Almost like a pastel colour. How would I go about doing that?

In my opinion, using channels to make a picture black and white is one of the worst ways. However, that's a long explanation. As far as the cap, you can go under "enhance" and go to adjust color, and pick color variations. It should pick up the rest automatically. At least that's how I understand it.

Picasa has a filter that allows you to filter your black and white images by color, like using a color filter on a camera........ however, Picasa saves all files to smaller Jpgs..so it's no good for files you want to keep large. Anyways, I haven't been able to figure out how to do this in photoshop... the photo filters aren't what I need, as they add color to the white areas too :P Any ideas?

So, what would be the best or better way, if I might ask? :)
