Battery and battery charger

I'd like to buy a spare battery for my S-45, but the proprietaty battery costs $70! I see a brand new 100% comaptible NB-2L sold for $20 on the Internet (Digital Bug LLC). Is this a reliable battery? Has anyone used it?

I'm planning to take my camera to Australia. Does the wall plug charger work with a special adapter?

I'm not sure where you are from but please remember that we have 240 Volt power here.
Also a different plug. An adaptor will fix the plug but you will need to check the voltage.

I live in U.S. Canon's battery chager has a range of 110-240 votage. Since we'll be staying in a hotel every night, I can recharge the battery at the end of the day with the adaptor. I still would like to take a spare battery just in case.
