Taking group photos outside the other day in A-DEP mode with a 1600 ISO speed.
Everything was nicely in focus but it appears to have come out with a low resolution, maybe it is just noise, I am not sure.

does anyone have any idea what went wrong and any way to possibly fix it?

any help would be muchly apreciated.

Check the data for resolution to be sure you had it set correctly. Then used a noise reduction program. At 1600 you will get noise - but something like Noise Ninja or Neat Image will take care of that problem. Everyone should have some kind of noise correction program on hand.

Most likely noise, but try posting a piece of the image, like a 600x600 pixel sample. Then we'll know for sure.

Barb's right about the noise reduction software, though. Noiseware, Neat Image, and Noise Ninja all have free editions (I'm pretty sure). Any one is well worth having installed.
