I'm trying to get into the habit of learning about what i shoot nowadays, so after a little searching i think this little guy is a Shamrock Orbweaver.

That crop shows sharp detail, which indicates to me that these are a couple really sharp shots. ;) Sorry, no help on the ID, but Nice job. :rolleyes: :D

Hi, I don't think an ID is likely beyond it's an Orbweaver of some kind - the patterns and colouring can vary so one species looks like another. The only way to tell for sure is by looking at the physical structure at high magnification.

thanx everyone, this time i actually used a tripod and man...what a difference. I was fortunate to have a subject that cooperated. :)

Good shots.
Looks the same as the common orb web spider in the UK- Araneus diadematus.

Nice shots. He's definitely an orb weaver. They are also known as "cross" or "garden" spiders.
