Hi everyone I was hoping some one in the North of England can help me. I have a couple of days off soon and was hoping to get out and take some landscape pictures, but I'm stuck for locations as I don't know the area to well.

I'm looking for scenic locations within an hour’s car journey of the centre of Manchester that doesn't involve too much mountaineering!!!

Thanks in advance for the help.

John

From Manchester, and well within an hour, you have a large area for landscape shots. The whole of the Peak District is do-able from there and you can also get into North Wales relatively easily. I'm not a landscape specialist at all really so can't suggest specific locations but the Peaks have some wonderful views that would surely make good shots. Try heading for the Castleton, Hope area as there are roads to, or very near to, the tops and hence little climbing needed. There are some good views from the Snake Pass too, expecially back over towards Manchester and Glossop.

Hope that helps a bit

it is, and on sunday you have the advantage of all the bikers gathering.
some awesome bikes.
as ever the weather will determine what sort of day you will have.
but a lot of interesting places can be found by driving around the area and over the top of the moors. and its not far from manchester
in fact you can see rivington from manchester . you cant miss the huge tv mast on the top
let me know if you go and how you get on
and best of all its all free
